food habits
there are lots and lots of queries on the Quora about this and also many people are not aware of what to eat and what not to as of this confusion and perplexion many people choose a diets which are not at all healthy for them, as a result, they end up by eating things they are generally not allowed to here are some criterion's and tips on how to understand our food
  • Generally, food that contains high amount of carbohydrates and starch are prohibited, so any packed food you wish to eat please check the carbohydrates and starch content in it generally low profile is preferred like corn flakes is good source which has fewer carbs and starch content
  • eat dietary fibers /fibers it helps to reduce your blood sugar level, like oranges, raw vegetables and citrus fruits
  • any fruit/vegetable that contains vitamins are good for your health, but my favorite of all is Gooseberry (Amla) it is highly citrus, it has lots of fiber in it, it is the best source of vitamin c and it boosts your digestion.
  • you are prohibited to eat oily food which has lots of fat and in the process of digestion the fat is broken down and carbohydrates are formed which later converts to glucose and fructose, in short, it increases the blood sugar level.
  • it is completely healthy to eat fruits how every not all fruits are allowed, the fruits which contain high sugar content are not allowed, like mango, Sapodilla, cherry, figs etc, how every few people still wish to eat these prohibited fruits they can be consumed in small quantity but constant sugar level monitoring is required.
remember it is very important to maintain a proper diet as intake of calories and carbs has a direct effect on your sugar levels and health, so take care of what, when and how much you eat because it all matters.

bitter gourd

initially, bitter gourd can be added in your diet and it can also be consumed in the form of juice, whatever is convenient to the person who wishes to consume it, the form in which it is consumed doesn't matter it should be consumed as it helps lower your blood sugar and in some cases
here is a short description of findings of world diabetes organization and I quote

"The fruit contains at least three active substances with anti-diabetic properties, including charantin, which has been confirmed to have a blood glucose-lowering effect, vicine and an insulin-like compound known as polypeptide-p. These substances either work individually or together to help reduce blood sugar levels"

so we now have a very good reason to eat bitter gourd, also take care that the bitter gourd that is prepared should contain less oil, you can also remove seeds (as they are very bitter in taste) and consume them, after all, it is good for you health

Bottle gourd

Bottle gourd or Lauki contains 92% water and the remaining is only fibre, which makes it an easily digestible food. It has a negligible amount of glucose and sugar-related compounds, which makes it an ideal food for diabetics. Including lauki in your daily diet helps reduce blood sugar levels.
fibres are very good for health as well as it is a great source of vitamins and water so make sure you include bottle gourd to your menu and diet plan it surely helps in many ways

Bonus tip
if you are a girl and type one diabetic, then bottle gourd is boon to you, eating any form of it can make your skin smooth and it also makes your skin acne/ pimple free, so this one is for you. ;)
